2 PETER 1:5
Add to your Faith, Perseverance,
Now how is that to be?
Change my circumstances,
And maybe then I’ll see.
Trusting God to change,
Your circumstances is Faith for sure,
Trusting God when they remain,
Is Perseverance and Faith to endure?
Without Perseverance…
We will only serve the Lord in comfort, joy and peace,
And that is a blessing for which we’re glad,
However, it will never our Faith increase.
Without Perseverance…
When adversity comes our way,
We will miss being treated as God’s children,
And instead we’ll turn and run away.
Without Perseverance…
We will miss seeing God bring,
Solutions to our problems so complex,
The provision on trusting Faith to cling.
Without Perseverance…
We can never injustice hope to bear,
Some of life’s events we’ll never understand,
But in waiting we’ll hear His tender voice so clear.
Without Perseverance…
We will never finish; we’ll say,”Let’s just quit”,
A consequence so sad indeed, for the loving Lord,
Wants you to know He’s not finished with you yet.
Without Perseverance…
You will never like the oyster be,
Allowing the irritations of life,
To produce in you a pearl for all to see.
